We are using EPC2034C GaN-FET in a motor drive application. Unfortunately the soldering process was not perfect and the the x-ray detected that Pad2 was not soldered. This is a gate pad, but Pad1 has the same function and is soldered very well. Is it possible to operate the MOSFET with only one soldered gate connection? Are they connected internally?
The two gate balls are internally connected. With only one ball soldered the gate loop inductance increases by a little, and you should be able to operate the GaN to continue your evaluation.
